Instant Pot Steel Cut Oatmeal

  • 1 cup Steel Cut Oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 1 1/2 cup Coconut Milk
  • salt pinch


  1. Place steel cut oatmeal, milk and salt into your Instant Pot and close.  Turn the valve to Sealing.

  2. Choose the pressure cook setting and press the button again so that it's on High.  Using the +/- button, choose 10 minutes. It may take up to 10 minutes for full pressure to be reached.  Once pressure is reached, the Instant Pot will start to count down from 10 until it's done.

  3. Once it's done cooking, you can do a quick release and turn the valve to Venting or it can naturally release. 

  4. If there is liquid on the top of your steel cut oats, just give it a stir to combine it.  The consistency will still be perfect.  

  5. Serve with desired toppings like granola, hemp seeds, fresh berries, honey or maple syrup. 

Recipe Notes

Of course you do not have to use coconut or almond milk in this recipe.  Lactaid or whole milk is fine as well.  Whatever liquid you choose, even if it's water, make sure its 3 cups total.
